Gallon a Day Challenge: Complete

Tonight I am finishing up my first 7-day Gallon a Day Challenge of 2020! There are a myriad of reasons I do this challenge, but what it all boils down to is maintaining health and wellness...

I started this 7-day challenge on Monday while recovering from a cold that had left me feeling weak. I'd begun to get very sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. By Tuesday morning I felt insanely better. Granted, I was on the up and up and moving in the right direction, but my improvement from Monday to Tuesday was vastly greater than my improvement from Sunday to Monday. Why does this matter? Water is HUGE to your overall health and wellness and my improvement into Tuesday showed me just how much drinking a full gallon of water can improve my symptoms from one day to the next.

The benefits don't stop there though; water has so many health and wellness benefits. Here are some of the other improvements I noticed throughout the week from this challenge:

  • Improved sleep

  • Better digestion, especially in the mornings

  • The little bit of acne I had on my skin began to clear up

  • More energy (with and without coffee)

When I'm not doing the Gallon a Day challenge I average about 90-100 ounces of water per day, so I do still see everyday benefits of drinking water, but am always happy with the results that the extra 30-40 ounces of water provides.

That said, I highly recommend that everyone tries this challenge from time to time. It's a great way to naturally cleanse and restart your system without spending $50+ on detox tea and juices.
