Wedding Planning: The Final Countdown
It's official... we are 10 Days from the Wedding!
People keep asking me if I'm stressed or still have a lot to do and the honest answer is no. I'm actually more stressed about getting all of my work done before taking off next Thursday than I am about the wedding. Not sure what that says about me...
Truthfully, I made a conscious effort to plan out wedding planning (that's ironic). As a result, I got a lot done early and the smaller things like putting together wedding favors, we done with still 30 days left. The final things on my checklist involve more beauty routine items, picking up the dress, sending in a final headcount to the rehearsal dinner venue and writing my vows.
Before anyone jumps down my throat, I have started my vows. It just never felt like something I wanted to rush, so I am taking my time. There is a huge importance around these words that I am writing and I do not want to take that lightly.
One thing I've learned, though everyone told me, was that I am not great at enjoying the moment. I have to keep reminding myself to focus on what's important about this wedding, instead of focusing on all of the little decor and logistical details. I am working on it. Truly, I am. It just doesn't come naturally to me and that's ok. The most important thing is that I recognize it and am making an effort to still enjoy the process.
With that, I am and have been taking a step back from things like this blog, my book and Instagram posting. At least until after the wedding. You will see a few things here and there, but most have it has been pre-planned and pre-scheduled so that I can focus on what really matters in the next 10 days... my soon to be husband!
