28-Day Challenge Halfway Point

Believe it or not, I've made it through the halfway point. Yesterday marked day 14 of my 28-Day Challenge!! I am feeling pretty proud that I have stuck with it, especially considering I was in California on vacation for 5 days. I never doubted that I would be able to do this, but it still is satisfying to know that so far I have done a good job of it.

As far as my health is concerned, I have been losing weight, not much, but about 1.5 pounds a week. Which is kind of a lot when you consider that I am not counting calories, at all! That's really just because I have been cooking almost all of my meals and I am changing up my workout routine.

The most difficult part of this for me has actually been the reading. I still have been reading most days, but it is surprisingly hard for me to find enough time to finish a book a week. Considering I am working 50-60 hours per week and cooking most of my meals, I don't actually feel that bad about not reading as quickly as I would like to. Also, I have managed to finish one of my 4 books and start the 2nd. So, I feel good about being able to get through at least the majority of the reading by the 28th day.

Surprisingly, the easiest thing for me has been the cooking. When I started this whole process I thought reading would be easiest and cooking would be the hardest. But after forcing myself to get through the first couple of meals I have really started to enjoy the cooking process. I look forward to chopping, mixing and serving my new dishes!!

As far as my overall mood is concerned, I feel very good about what I am doing and am happy for actually going through with this idea, because it has helped to build my confidence and self-esteem.
