My Favorite 4th of July Appetizers

Time is running out on 4th of July shopping so I wanted to share two of my must-haves. I have a tendency to be a little 'extra' so of course my holiday appetizers usually match the traditional holiday colors. So without further ado, my two favorites are: Buffalo Cauliflower and White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.

Huge plus, these are both vegetarian! Because of the chocolate and optional ranch dressing these aren't vegan appetizers, but you can always make them vegan by using dairy-free chocolate or forgoing the ranch dressing for the buffalo cauliflower.

Buffalo Cauliflower

What You'll Need:

Cauliflower

Buffalo Sauce

Olive Oil

Ranch or Bleu Cheese (optional)

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400.

2. Wash and chop the cauliflower.

3. Add the cauliflower to a mixing bowl along with 1 tbsp of olive oil per head of cauliflower and 1/2 cup of buffalo sauce per head of cauliflower.

4. Toss all 3 ingredients together in the mixing bowl until the cauliflower is coated in buffalo sauce.

5. Prep a baking sheet.

6. Add the cauliflower to the baking sheet and once preheated, add the sheet to the oven.

7. Bake for 30 minutes, shaking the baking sheet at the 15 minute halfway mark.

8. Remove from the oven and serve with an additional dipping sauce of your choice.

White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

What You'll Need:

Strawberries

Baking White Chocolate

Blue Sprinkles

Directions:

1. Wash the strawberries and prep your space with wax paper. You will be placing the strawberries on the wax paper once the strawberries are dipped.

2. Add the white chocolate to a glass bowl and microwave it at 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is melted. USE CAUTION: baking chocolate can burn easily if it is microwaved too long, so make sure you are checking and stirring it often.

3. Use the green stem portion of the strawberry to dip them into the glass bowl one by one. Once dipped, place the strawberries on the wax paper. After every 8-12 add the sprinkles before the chocolate cools too much so that the sprinkles won't stick.

4. Once all the strawberries are dipped and sprinkled with festive sprinkles, you will need to let them sit out for 20-45 minutes until they are completely dry. Then they can be stored in the fridge until it is time to enjoy them!
