August Challenge: READ

These last few months I've really started to enjoy my monthly challenges. It's been a great way to keep me focused and to keep my mind engaged with setting and meeting measurable goals. Has it been perfect? Of course not, but life isn't perfect either.

My August Challenge is a read challenge. At the beginning of the year, instead of setting New Year's resolutions, I decided to set New Year's goals. I am extremely happy to report I have hit all but 1 of my goals. My final goal is to read two books. I have no doubt some of you are scratching your heads like, "Kayla, how have you NOT finished two books already?" I get it. That's a reasonable question. The best answer I've got, I don't prioritize reading...

I am all about setting oneself up for success and I want to set myself up for success in meeting all of my goals this year. So, in the month of August, my challenge is to read 2 full books. The first being #GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso. I'm not proud of this, but I've been meaning to read this book for 4 years and I feel now is the perfect time. It's approximately 240 pages and I would like to be done by August 15th. That puts me at about 16 pages a day, totally do-able.

How do I plan on staying accountable? I will be sure to schedule in reading time everyday, about 20-30 minutes should be enough for 16 pages a day. Once I finish each book I will write a little, mini-review right here on the blog, so you can decide for yourself if these books are worth the read.

I have yet to decide on my second book for August, though I do have a couple of ideas. I am open to suggestions if anyone has a book that they love, please let me know!
