Holiday Recipes #1: Apple Cider

In honor of December being an EPIC month of holidays, I've decided to dedicate this month-long challenge to new Holiday-inspired recipes. Some may be food related, while others will be holiday treats + sweets.

Recipe #1 = Apple Cider

I chose this because apple cider is one of my absolute favorites! Personally, I've never been a huge fan of pumpkin spice things, but apple spice is my weakness. I cannot get enough. This apple cider recipe is tasty, super simple and very comforting during the cooler months.

What You'll Need:

8 Cups Water

4 Honeycrisp Apples

1 Orange

2-3 Tbsp Honey

1 1/2 Tbsp Mulling Spices

1/2 Tbsp Cinnamon

Instructions:

  1. Start by washing and chopping the apples into 1 1/2 - 2 inch pieces, then set aside. Cut half of the orange into slices and set aside.

  2. Add the water, apples and oranges into your crockpot for 8 hours on low. I recommend using at least a 5 quart crockpot.

  3. Stir in the mulling spices, honey and cinnamon.

  4. After 8 hours, pull out the fruit pieces and strain the apple cider then put back into the crockpot.

  5. Serve with cinnamon sticks and/or orange slices as a garnish and enjoy!
