The Honeymoon

Our honeymoon was not long enough. I'm sure a lot of people say that and honestly I did not think I'd be one of them. Before we left I thought I'd be ready to come home and see our kitties after 5 nights away...

I was ready to come home and see the kitties, but I was not ready to stop enjoying quality time with my new husband. We have opposite work schedules so I don't get to spend a lot of one-on-one time with Ian, even though we live together, and this trip was a great time to spend some real time together. So great, I didn't want it to end. I still wish it hadn't.

Let's talk Location. For starters, we went to Cancun, Mexico. It was actually our Plan C. Originally we wanted to go to Asia or Europe but then COVID hit so our plans got very derailed. We ended up deciding on a short trip to Mexico and for our one-year we'll spend about two or two and a half weeks in Europe.

Where we Stayed. We stayed at Moon Palace Nizuc in Cancun. I'd been there a couple of times before, so I knew we'd have plenty to do and it would be a relaxing vacation. Bonus, it's all-inclusive and affordable considering we want to have a bigger trip in a year. This allowed us the chance to go somewhere nice, without spending our entire vacation budget.

What was the Budget? Delta had great deals on flights because we booked in the middle of the pandemic. So between flights, the resort, food and tips we spent under $4k all in. And we flew first class!

The Activities. Unfortunately it rained for most of the trip, so we didn't get to do as many of the activities that we wanted to do. That said, the pool area has a surplus of umbrellas, so we were able to spend time there, even when it was raining. Ian also taught be how to play chess and we indulged on a lot of fun foods.
